BSi Steel Katanga was originally known as the company Discount Steel DRC.

Discount Steel DRC showed rapid growth as a steel merchant within its market in the DRC, and in April 2007 there was an aggressive restructuring process which saw the conversion of all subsidiaries and associated companies into wholly owned subsidiaries.

The minority shareholders of Discount Steel DRC were converted to shareholders within the holding company BSi Steel.

Through the restructure BSi Steel became the holding company of Discount Steel DRC and as a result Discount Steel DRC fell under the BSi Steel brand as a new brand called BSi Steel Katanga.

BSi Steel Katanga is driven by a core of highly driven managers comprising of; as well as two other directors.
BSi Steel Katanga is fully committed to growing its business in the Katanga region of the DRC and considerable investment has been made in both human and financial resources to open up and service these markets.
